    Hi everyone,

I'm a college student and I see that there's a special "Student" section on Lenovo.com where prices are lower. How do we take advantage of those prices, do we have to show proof at some point that we're students, do we have to go to any particular school, or can anyone just order from there?

Has anyone here ordered from that section?

    Thanks!

You don't need to show proof, I originally ordered off the student discount without telling them my student number then canceled later to use spp coupon.

As for discounts, I think they both take off 5% but the spp lets you use the coupon if they are still accepting the orders from it.

From the Lenovo US homepage, click on Solutions for "Education" > Employee Purchase Program > Students > Students and Alumni

If you really want to cash in on the discounts, don't forget to use Visaperks (if you're going to use a Visa card) or Tailorfit (for AMEX) and Fatwallet.

How does someone apply the visa discount and the student discount?

Each time I click on the links it takes me to a different section and won't apply both discounts.

    Thanks.

the thing is, i'm not a shareholder, but if everyone here says that we can order through SPP with no problem, then i'll do it. i just don't want anything to happen to my order, like if they cancel it or charge me the full price in the end (which, i understand, has happened to some people) or whatever.

as i said, my main concern was, do we have to show some kind of proof or do we have to attend any particular school. if anybody can order through the student section without a code or anything, that wouldn't make much sense IMHO.

That shareholder code has been on out on the net for a while now. If Lenovo really wanted to yank that code, it would have been yanked a long time ago.

Both the student/alumni and shareholder pricing are exactly the same.

    However,
    (a) you may additionally get a coupon code for the shareholder pricing from time to time to sweeten the deal.
    (b) your school may have its own lenovo page and you will most likely get very good deals on select configurations with the option of cheaper warranty. In some cases, this may be as good as employee pricing.

The student/alumni pricing doesn't need any proof and the shareholder pricing can be accessed with the widely available shareholder code (no verification done!). So, either way you are getting a better deal than the standard pricing.
