What is a suitable bag? I have the 7 cell battery. Prefer not to get a Lenovo/Thinkpad logoed bag since flashing the tech bling bling could make me a target for theft or being mugged and having my laptop stolen but thugs.

How do you insert the notebook in the bag with the battery protruding? Will it damage the case/battery? Seems odd to have the battery at the zipper end as the screen lid/hinge would be at risk of damage. Thanks.

it's better that you buy an at least 15" or 15.4" for your 14.1" since the exact size will not fit the T61. I bought a 15" Foray laptop messenger bag at officedepot and it fits my t61ws perfectly with the 6-cell bar attached. now you have the idea, it's your turn to decide. good luck!

Thanks the 6 cell and the 7 cell extend out by the same amount. So, when you set you notebook in your case do you insert it with the batter on the bottom of the case? Is there possibility for damage?

Is there enough room to add some padding on my own so that the battery doesnt sit on the bottom of the case? Thanks in advance!

I have a Kensington backpack bag. I know not very professional looking, but I don't care. I have the 7 cell battery, and it works great plus plenty of room for all the "stuff."

a lot of people using the neoprene laptop sleeves for extra protection from scratches and shock...i think it helps somehow.
