I have a HDD of an x61s that was on XP. If I get another machine x61s, same type, model, maybe slightly different configs, but on Vista, can I just replace the HDD with the one with XP so that I'll have XP on the second machine? Will it boot correctly?

Should work, might have issues with certain drivers if there are different components.

You might have issues with the licensing of Windows XP on the computer.
