    "Switchable Graphics" Option greyed out

    I believe I have a machine with switchable graphics but the option is not available on my battery icon. Looking for help on how to switch to dedicated. Thanks.

    By the looks of it, you're running XP - XP does not support hot-switching of graphics cards. You have to reboot and change your GPU in BIOS.

    I have the ATI Radeon HD 3400 Series Display Adapter. I can see the switchable graphics option on my battery icon -- so I have to do this switching in BIOS if I'm running XP?

    Yes. XP doesn't support hot-switching graphics... Vista and Win7 do, though.
