When I switch to switchable graphics should both the integrated and discrete be listed under the display adapters tab in the device manager? If this shouldn't be happening, does anyone know any fixes? Also, I know about the the problem with windows 7 going to sleep, and I switched back and forth multiple times to make sure this was not the problem.

Yes they should both appear in device manager.
