I am leaning to a 15 inch T 60 with some video ram. Scanning, I am not seeing much difference between 60 and 61. What am I missing?

Lenovo is discontinuing the 15 inch regular screen model. So if you want a 15 inch regular screen, go for the T60. If not, go for the T61.

There is supposed to be an R61 (R, not T) 15" 4:3 model, XGA or SXGA+ (1400X1050), look for a July 10 announcement.

I just recently got my T60 15.4" Widescreen, and I can say so far its better than a T61. But the only difference that I can tell between a T61 from a T60 would be the processor, so depends on what you like, more processor power or a nice big screen.

Is the SXGA+ screen going to be a flexview?

T61 can be ordered with 15.4" WS screens too, in which case what benefit does the T60 have, excluding T60p?

The main benefit would be that, unlike the T60, the T61 will have been assembled in the same plant by the same ppl who produce Dell Inspiron laptops... Dude you just got a dell t61!

Also there's no N-wireless on the T60. And none of the customized T60's offer bluetooth anymore.

i know nothing except rumors that flexviews on the T's will only be available for some corporate accounts, and not made generally available... but that's coming from ibm not lenovo, for what it's worth.

if true, one would expect that flexview will not be generally available on the R series.

t61 vs t60: latest processors vs no, newer cooling system vs no, roll cage in lid vs magnesium lid, offset screen vs no, wait for desired 15" sxga+ vs available now; 1st all lenovo design supposedly in new cheaper facility vs last ibm design.

Plus they might still be working the bugs out on the t61, from some of the reading around here.

B/t the above and shipping situation, I cancelled my t61 order and have an eye out for deal on t60 through resellers, personally.

I agree with you. Thumps up for T60. Let us know if you find any good deals through resellers.
