I realize that this question is kind of odd, but I put off buying a T series laptop until next August, and I'm wondering what I can expect in a T series in a year from now. Do you guys think they'd have quadcores by then? 800MHz RAM? an option for a SSD HDD? LED Screens?

I'm just curious becuase I haven't read much on what is up and coming in the laptop world

    Thanks in advance

Lol, predicting a year ahead in the computers world is a shot in the dark, but I think that everything you mentioned will be available, along with some other fancy new things.

I don't this sdd will be affordable really yet as an hdd replacement in one year. Maybe 2, but still pricey.

I doubt they would put quads in laptops anytime soon since this will likely use more power and thus decrease battery life. SSDs are probably on the horizon but most people (at least me) are put off by the high price and the rather small capacity in comparison to a normal hdd.

haha. technology moves really fast...but not that fast i think. i got my t60 with a 1.8 duo, 512ram and x1300 ati for 1400 last year. now you can buy mine for a little over 600 dollars and for the price i paid, get one thats significantly faster.

however, when you think about what my computer does compared to the new ones, essentially the same thing. you go on the internet, play games, etc. new screens and ssd (which probably wont become that big until more than a year from now) shouldnt really effect your decision to buy unless youre willing to pay the premium price for those things.

if anything, i would keep my eye on something that satisfies my needs now, and wait for the price to go down when it gets overshadowed by the newer, faster stuff
