I just got off the phone with lenovo and they told me that the new widescreen T60 series will be replacing the Z series.
My question is does anyone know when the T60 will be out with a 14.1" widescreen so that it is actually similar to the Z series?

If it's going to replace the Z series, then it's also going to need a few features it's missing, so I'd guess the 14" will come out when they refresh that line.

The Z series has extra options like a webcam, media card reader, 1394 firewire, and s-video out that the T series lacks. The Z series has been more of the multimedia line. I wish that Lenovo would stick with the Z series and add further features like 1394b, DVI, ect and then stay with the T series for the more solely business orientated. I have a Z61m now and I do have a T60 widescreen on the way but from the horror stories about the screen I don't know if I will keep it or not since I'm rather satisfied with my T2500 Z61m now.

I really can't believe why the T series still doesn't include a flash card reader. It's included in even the most basic notebooks and a very useful feature.
Other than that I think it's a good thing to replace the Z series especially since the t60 now offers wide screen lcd's. It's just a matter of time till they offer a 14" one. -
There isn't much room left on the sides to add a media reader, although I agree it would be nice.
They did get rid of the parallel port though.
T series widescreen to replace Z series.
