    T Series versus SL series?

Both can be had in 14 inch and less then $100 difference?

The T series is also lighter if portability is an issue

    SL series isn't a Thinkpad.

Actually it IS in the Thinkpad series/family, but it's targeted for the small business customer.

I think the SL doesn't have the T's docking ability, the ultrabay, the full rollcage, nor the full ThinkVantage software suite.

    There's a comparison grid posted on Lenovo.com:

    T-series.

Despite being relatively impressed with the SL series appearance, the roll cage plus the lid latch make the T series the way to go.

What's wrong with the SL keyboard layout? Are you referring to the ThinkVantage buttons being on the left and the indicator buttons being on the right and the power button up top?

My only gripe with the ThinkPad keyboard is that they should interchange the position of the 'Control' and 'Function' keys

I wonder what the new high-gloss black cover on the SL looks like? Anyone bought an SL as yet?

Also, the Lenovo video says they are scratch-resistant. I wonder if it's true...

HAHA I wouldn't want to try to test that theory.... ;)

I wonder if it's also fingerprint resistant ...?

The SL series shouldn't be part of the Thinkpad line anyway. It's more like the current R-series line.

actually, I prefer to have PgUp & PgDw at arrow key like that more than the traditional style--it's just easier to use & closer to your hand.

Actually the 14" R61 is almost exactly the same as the T-series (while the 15" is more like earlier R-series).

But I agree, overall, the SLs appear to have less ThinkPadiness that the T. (Candy for the alleged small business owner who really wants to watch movies when business is slow?)

well, honestly, if lenovo makes SL500 available here in the Philippines, I might go for it simply because there's no 15.4" thinkpad available here. I really like to have a WSXGA+ screen.
