The W500 is the T61p replacement, right?

Seems the only aesthetic change to the T/R series are the scroll indicators on the touchpad.

I'm not sure I like how the trackpad buttons hang on the edge, but they probably don't care cause I won't be buying one.

Hey, what is this with the audio jacks still on the front of the T-series ? If they could manage to put them on the left side on the X300, they should have been able to do so on a T400--afterall, it is larger in all dimensions.

Why on the left side? In front is always better for headphones.

I'm very interested in the IdeaPad U330 too. Does anyone know what the ATI M82SCE is? I've searched google and nothing comes up, not even on the ATI website.

Also, I know IdeaPads are targeted towards "home" consumers - so does that mean their build quality is not as good as the Thinkpads? Is it worse enough to be an issue?

Actually, the T500 is supposed to be the replacement for the 15.4" T61.

U330 will have the HD 3450 and Intel X4500 hybrid graphics system. Thanks for the help you two. Looks like details are scarce at the moment. I was hoping to get some dimensions. ^_^"

Actually I'm very impressed with the overall build quality, very solid and stable machine, and I can say it's better built than the R series TP. :)

I wonder how the temperature is on the HD 3450 or similar ATI cards, I assume it much be cooler than my Nvidia card. :(

The PDF also said that the touchpad was to be bigger, though the picture made it look the same size as the T61.

This may be a bit of a silly question, but are they continuing the rollcage with the new T-series models?

Thank you, admlam. I was a bit unsure since finding out that the SL-series will not include the rollcage.

Does anyone know what generation the FireGL V5700 (found in the W500) is derived from? It is the RV770 (HD 4800) or the RV670 (HD3800)?

And isn't it a good reason for Lenovo to refresh the line within the year with a "new" graphic card? Especially - in a view of that: http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/18/nvidias-geforce-9700m-9800m-laptop-gpus-get-quasi-official/

    PS
If only ATi's card offers performance of the current T61p's one, adding to it an extra hour of battery life - I'm in... Even if your rumor about a single GPU in W series is true ;)

So do the 6 cell batteries stick out on the T400 series? What would that increase the weight to?

I guess I was thinking that the T500 would approach the weight of the macbook pro. Darn. It's still heavier than the inspiron xps m1530 series! I thought the new generation was supposed to shed serious weight.

Claimed battery life is always more than actual battery life.
