I'm getting a used T510 that only has the basic bgn wireless module. I like to upgrade to wifi link 1000, Centrino Advance 6200n or Ultimate 6300n. Which one is the best? I have a Linksys wrt610n router. It can do simultaneous dual band. I don't need much speed but I do max reliability as I live in a condo where there are a few 2.4 GHz routers around. Is it a good thing to get one of ebay? I know I need a Lenovo specific part instead of a generic. Any fav place I can get it?

Why don't you wait until you get it before you decide that it's bad?

the basic bgn won't do MIMO, you would probably need a 6200/6300 if you want a good MIMO feature.

Because it doesn't do 5.8 Ghz (802.11a/n). 2.4 GHz (802.11g/n is pretty bad in an apartment situation as your microwave, cordless phone, baby monitor and your neighbour's wireless all share the same frequency space. Relatively fewer wireless appliances use 5.8 Ghz. I am not worrying too much about speed but I do like stable signal. I'm using a T60 with an Intel card on 5.8 Ghz band and never has a problem with it. Can anybody tell me where can I look up the FRU for a T510 6200/6300 wireless card? I want to get it off eBay as it is much cheaper but I need to make sure it is the right part. Thanks for the info in advance!

All I'm saying it may work fine and it doesn't cost anything to test it out. You can always upgraded later if needed. All the FRUs are located in the HMM.
