Does anyone know why I would have so much trouble connecting my new T400 to the hotel networks. I spend 3 nights a week on average in hotels, and cannot connect to most of the networks while the rest of my crew has no issues with their other laptops.

I'm running Vista with a Intel(R) WiFi Link 5100 with PAN if that makes a difference.

Usually I am able to connect but will have no access to the internet, and it just ends up kicking off after a minute or two anyway, after spending a few seconds with a 5.5mbps signal (though it shows full bars).

    Thanks.

You might want to try disabling all power saving features of the NIC. Some access points have trouble with this.
