    T-series and external widescreen

    Does anyone know if you can drive an external widescreen monitor with any of the newer T-series? I've had no luck getting it to work with a T41p and a T42p, and it's time for a new laptop...

    Of course, he's using a dock. But no doubt you can run any normal (sub-30") monitor on a T60 with discrete video.

    checking the options on my T43 it would appear all the resolution choices are 4:3. I don't have an external monitor hooked up to play with though.

    I'm driving a wide-screen monitor from a T60 (through a dock, but that should not matter). I had trouble at first. the key was to let it think of the monitor as an external display device. then, it offered the wide-screen resolution as an option. It's worked well since then, and switches back and forth automatically.
