I've got a Pretec CF GPS unit (standard, not LP) with a PCMCIA adaptor. My Thinkpad recognises it without a problem, and the drivers installed ok. Autoroute & GPSS can't get any a fix or good data from it. www.gpss.co.uk says there is a known BIOS problem with the Thinkpads, but the link it provides to the IBM site isn't much help. Neither is their phone line.
I've tested the unit on a friend's Dell and it worked great, so no issues there.
Anyone got any ideas how I can sort out my thinkpad problems?!!!
    Thanks.

Well, you could try IBM I suppose, but it sounds more like a hardware compatibility issue to me and would fall back on Pretec.
