I just picked up a T30 that only has 256MB memory. There is (1) stick of 256MB in it right now.

I tried installing a couple different memory sticks (PC2100) and the system will not show these sticks.

I also tried a 512MB PC2100 in place of the (1) 256MB and the display will not show.

How do I get more memory in this system and how do I get the 2nd memory slot to work ?

This is a known issue. The leads on one of you SODIMM sockets have pulled away from the PCB board. THis can be repaired by a skilled tech with fine tip soldering iron and microscope. See www.thinkwiki.org T30 pages.

    I have reparied mine twice.

I've checked RadioShack and they don't carry these fine tips for soldering irons.

Where can these fine tips be bought from ????
