Just received a basically new T40 yesterday and I have insalled all the necessary drivers and everyting works great except for the wireless LAN card.

    Specs are
    1.6ghz Pentium M
    1GB RAM
    32mb Radeon 7500
    40GB HDD
Cisco Wireless LAN adapter (comes stock from IBM/Lenovo)

Problem is, that whenever i press fn+f5, the wirelss tower icon will never light up green. I go into Access Connections, "turn wireless radio on" and nothing. No light, no ability to find any networks in range.

I get this "Radio is pPowered on, but not associated"
Signal quality is poor, signal rate is 0, MAC address is all zero's.

Yes, I have installed all of the newest drivers. I have installed IBM's automatic update and I have reinstalled windows twice over now. Still no light comes from the little wireless tower icon. No connection.

Also, I get a weird mouse lag whenever I enable my wireless LAN card in control panel > system > hardware > device manager. but whenever I disable the wireless card, the mouse lag goes away. If i re-enable it, the mouse lag comes back again.

Not sure if it some sort of hardware conflict or whats going on, it's jsut very annoying.

And to repeat, all of the latest drivers from lenovo/IBM have been installed and I have reinstalled windows twice. I appreciate everyones help but please do not tell me to reinstall the drivers or clean the old ones. There were never any old drivers and i've reinstalled the Cisco drivers at least a dozen times.

    Thanks

Do you have a wireless card? A lot of the T40s didn't have them.

Haha! If that was true, that would rot after spending countless hours troubleshooting :)

Where did you buy your laptop from? Did they say that the laptop includes WLAN?
