Just did a reinstall on my T40 of Windows XP Pro. 2373 model. Computer used to enter sleep/standby mode fairly quickly when closing the lid or via keyboard - probaly 10 seconds max. Now it's taking over 30 seconds. I did change hard drives, but both are 5400rpm models (old was OEM Hitachi - new is a Seagate 5400.3). After reinstalling XP and fully patching it, I also used Thinkvantage System Update, and downloaded and installed a bunch of driver updates, including power management, battery maximiser, etc. I'm not entirely sure which versions of these apps/drivers I had before this reinstall. I realize there could be some programs running in the background, but before driving myself crazy hunting down the culprit, I just wanted to know if somebody else experienced a sudden change in their "time to enter standby" and figured out what caused the delay? Thanks.
