I am interested in a T400 or T500. With the T410 & T510 replacements coming out in early next year, will Lenovo be offering better deals on the existing T400 & T500? Or are the current prices the lowest I can expect? Thank you.

Expect to buy from the Outlet with very competitive prices.

Hard to say. Lenovo is unlikely to share that kind of pricing data with anyone here. I've seen it go both ways.

Worst case scenario with waiting is you have to go through the outlet. Im assuming once the new models are out they will be pushing those and no longer the current t series.

You can only get what is on the market at the time.
T400 and T500 are pretty cheap (relative). So they will ramp down production as T410/T510 ramps up. When they happens depends; I'm not privy to their JIT production over in China.
You really have to ask, how much better is the T410/T510? Is it worth the premium you will pay when it's first out (as well as all the initial production bugs (there always are some.)
I have a T400 that I got last Sept. If I was to buy the same today, I would save maybe 10%. Not a huge difference. Remember, they were giving away the built-in 3G option at the beginning, and now they charge the $80 or whatever it is. So waiting doesn't always mean cheaper.
This is the first laptop that I have that I don't feel I need to replace after 1 year. I usually get a new laptop every year, and sell off the old one, as I want the best performance/features. Well, I popped an SSD in this puppy and am happy as a clam. I don't think I will replace this one until maybe next Fall, if the prices/features of the T410 (or successors) warrant it. I am running Windows 7 and it is all good.
The T400 and T500 are fraking awesome machines. Just last night, my T400 went off the table to the floor. BAM! I've seen this kill HP's and Dells.
Nary a problem; the Active Protection kicked in and my second hard drive (don't need it for the SSD), and the frame protected it - no damage at all.
Maybe you will see some sales at the outlet - if you can, get them. Make sure you get the on-site warranty, as the depot can be problematic.
