Well, not really slow, but much much slower than it should be.
I just installed windows 7 on it. This is what it was like.

I used lenovo's system update to install all the drivers and it's still way slower than it should be.

That's shameful for a sandforce drive . Any ideas?

The benchmarks are quite slow, is your system running in AHCI mode? Check the BIOS SATA settings to make sure. If it is then check the OCZ Vertex II is running the latest firmware.

Also if you haven't done so you may as well install the Intel Rapid Storage Technology SATA drivers to see if it improve matters. Though normally I would load these drivers first then install Windows 7 after.

Below are my SSD results which you can use as reference, being a Sandforce drive you should be able to get better results than my Intel SSD.

I have the same results in CrystalMark with a Vertex 2 in my X200, but get better results using ATTO as a benchmark.

I'm happy with the overall everyday performance, so I don't care about fixing and tweaking anymore, just to get a better benchmark.

My firmware says 1.27, the one on the website is 1.24  .

I'll install that rapid storage technology. I installed one but it was an older version.

BIOS says AHCI mode, but I don't know how to tell if it's actually using that.

I still think it's performing slower than it should be. I just re-built a desktop with a 40gb mushkin sandforce drive which I believe is essentially the same, and it felt faster. It was a c2d desktop too. It's not exactly slow, but it seems like it should feel faster.
