    Hi all,
I've purchased my T400 several days ago. I wonder if I can upgrade my HDD from 160G/5,400rpm to 320G/7,200rpm, does it affect the global warranty and how can keep Vista biz license and Thinkvantage recovery as well. Tks all.

The hard drive is considered user upgradeable and upgrading it does not void the warranty.

You can use any 2.5" SATA I/II hdd. As for recovery, I understand that if you burn the restore disks and use them on a new hdd, you'll get back the original factory status exactly.

I agree. Just use your copy of the restore discs and install into the new hard drive.

Depends on your technical skill. Migrating to a new hard drive would take me minutes. I'd just have to wait for my recovery disks to install windows and I'd be done. You could even get a USB to SATA connector and ghost over your previous partitions. That'd be even faster.
