Hi everyone,
I'm looking for a laptop, and both the T400 and Dell E6400 fit the bill. Now however the T400 is starting to gain the upper hand.
Just wondering though, according to the official post on the matter ( http://forum.thinkpads.com/viewtopic.php?p=471118) you can opt for a keyboard replacement. I really can't be bothered with all the trouble of replacing the kb, so just wondering, will a newly bought T400 come with the fixed kb already? Will I have to specially request it?
If it changes anything (hopefully not), I'm ordering from Lenovo Australia.
Thanks
Michael

They've switched "most of the production" to the T61 keyboards while they evaluate it to determine if the keyboard should actually be redesigned. They didn't say as much, but I got the impression that if they get in a bind and supply runs out, they may still substitute the newer part from existing inventories, but getting it replaced later doesn't seem to be much of a problem, from what I saw on the Lenovo forums.
For all intents and purposes, yeah, they fixed it....pretty much.
T400 - come shipped with fixed keyboard?
