Hi, currently having an issue regarding lid closing on the T400. With the closing lid behavior set to "do nothing," when I close, and then re-open the lid, the icons on my desktop have been shifted to a placement for a lower resolution.

I know that this is related to the T400 looking for an external display and switching resolutions when the lid is closed, but I can find no way to change this behavior, either by changing the (nonexistent) external monitor resolution or disabling it entirely.

I'm using the latest ATI driver on Windows XP, haven't checked whether this occurs with integrated. Any ideas?

I have my trash bin icon placed in the lowest right corner of my desktop. Sometimes when I open my lid after the computer have been hibernated or shut down it has moved one placement up...

Haven't noticed it with other icons but I also only have my trash bin icon and 1-2 other icons on my desktop...

    Haven't found any solution to this issue yet... I don't have a T400 but a T61...

And over and over again they keep screwing with the 'close lid' cr*p.

T60 had similar things, T61 had, and now T400.

My T61 would go to 800x600 after I re-opened the lid (while 'close lid' set to 'no action'). I tried several things and got so irritated that I used Windows system restore to go back a week in time and got rid of the problem.

It was fine for some time, and now it BSOD'ing one out of five times when I close the lid while the machine is preparing to go into sleepmode.

Can't we just modify that darned switch to make it work like it should?
I would be more then happy to have something that would just shutdown the backlight, (and therefore the energy consumption of the screen) and NOT give a signal to the system that 'it's time to screw something up'.

Oh, and Lenovo: thanks for your wonderfull support line ("a credit card is needed"), while next to nobody has a fr** credit card in Europe!

Besides that I'm happy with my T61 :)
