    Hi everyone,

My T400 starting makes this beep sequence when sitting idle and then freezes with no display and only battery light on. The beep sequence is
3 short beeps, pause 3 short beeps pause and another short beep.

also, I am experiencing display issues like my t400 becomes super slow and when I right click the menu is all dark. I am posting a screenshot of how my start menu looks like. The only way to escape this problem is a restart.

Since I am using XP and default display adapter is ATI, Is it a potential hardware issue with ATI 3450 card or is it a RAM issue?

    thanks guys.

IF you have more than 1 board take them all out and put one in at at any given time and test. It is very unlikely that 2 will be defective at the same time. Of course if the only have one board, we're out of luck..

Thanks for the reply guys. Sent it to Lenovo, seems like system board needs replacement.
Also, if anyone else googles this, the distorted display is the problem with latest ATI driver. I rolled back to old driver and the display is perfect.
