    Hi guys,
I am a owner of a new (to me) T400 which is running 32 bit Vista.

As I was advised, I went to Lenovo's utilities to burn the recovery cd/dvds to restore the hidden partition if i lose it at some point.

Going threw the wizard, I burned first 1 cd, then 1 dvd.

From my trolling around on these boards, I noticed others burned 1 cd the 2 dvds.

so did I do something wrong? The option i used in the thinkpad utilities is now grayed out so I might have to contact Lenovo for a set.

I might have gotten confused between the backup option and the one to restore R&R partition.

    Thanks

It's very easy to hit cancel by mistake (and without even noticing it) while burning the recovery disks. So yes it's probable you missed burning the last one. I have seen this happening to others in the forums.

The good news is you discovered it before you needed them :). Unless you can convince Lenovo support to ship new recovery disks on the warranty without charge they come cheaper from here.

I thought lenovo ships recovery disks for free?

Plus is it not an option on purchase to have the recovery disks in your package?

No, not in general. It depends on how they interpret the warranty. If you have the extended warranty with accidental damages they probably will send them without charge if you had a mishap that prevented you from burning your own.
No. The only recovery disks ever shipped with the machine are XP recovery disks for a Vista preload or Vista recovery disks for an XP preload. You still have to burn the preload op sys recovery disks yourself.

Call Lenovo and explain the situation; if you're lucky those disks will be sent to you for free. If not, tough luck.

ah is it because its different countries?

I know that the pre manufactured pcs never come with recovery disks. but if you get custom orders there is a checkbox here for adding the recovery disks in there. I suppose thats it? It doesnt seem like the sweden site allow custom thinkpad orders
