I have had my T400 for just a little over a week, and I must say that I am somewhat impressed by the performance of the 4-cell battery. I also purchased the 6-cell battery, but I haven't had a chance to test it out. With about 50% brightness, WiFi on, and using integrated graphics, I have been getting around 3.3 to 3.5 hours on battery.

What kind of performance are you guys getting out of the 4-cell?

For reference, my specs are shown below:

    -T9400 (2.53GHz, 6MB Cache, 35W)
    -4GB DDR3 RAM
    -Switchable Graphics
    -No Turbo Memory
    -160GB 7200RPM HDD
    -Intel 5300 WIFI
    -WXGA+ w/ LED Backlight (Samsung)
    -Vista Business 32-bit

The LED on integrated graphics gets very good battery life.

Wow, that's actually quite impressive for such a beefy laptop. The T400 sure is amazing and handling it's power consumption.

Agreed. The Power Manager currently shows 10.12 Watts, and the computer is still very snappy :)

Just out of curiosity, what is the watt-hour rating that you see in the power manager? With my X200, the 6 cell is rated at ~57 Wh.

Note that the 4 cell on the x200(s/t) is not as good as the 4 cell on the T400. The x200(s/t) uses a prismatic 4-cell that is only rated at 28 WHr (1/2 vs. 2/3 of the 6 cell).

That is pretty good, and seems about right for a T9400 processor and 14.1" LED display.

For the purpose of comparison, I can get down to about 7.50 watts with 50% brightness, Wi-Fi on, integrated graphics on my x200 Tablet. Although, I have a LV processor, SSD, and 12.1" display so this is to be expected.
