My god. People’s sensitivities have become so high one would think NBR has become something akin to a breast cancer support group.

NBR was once a very good resource for notebook information. Now the signal to noise ratio is so extremely high that getting good information becomes quite difficult.

Meh. I’m done with this matter.

 

If people think this forum is bad they should venture over to gametrailers.com. Now that is a disfunctional community. This place is far more peaceful. I really hate to generalize, but it really does seem like it is the younger generation that is weighing forums down. I know there are some really bright younger folk out there...just like the saying "the sqeaky wheel..."

 

The comment of mine that you quoted was not just directed at you, so it would appear that 'sensitivity' is all over. In the last month or so, I've noticed that the 'kiddy' arguments have become more prevalent than when I joined. Some of it I was involved in and the other stuff I witnessed. Notice, I never specifically ever said anything about you even in my initial response. My comments have always remained general as to not single anyone out. Moreover, I can't help it that I expressed an opinion and others seemed to agree. I didn't ask Peraffi to leave the comments that he did; he or she chose to do that on his own volition. Notice also that I never ventured on to say any more about the matter. I replied by asking him if his question was answered. Everything else is over and done.

I have been very fortunate, as many others have, to receive some great information on this board and that is why I continue to come. Once I feel that the immaturity outweighs the information, I'll find somewhere else to frequent. I've done it before. I know that there are definitely worse out there, especially compared to NBR. However, I stand by my original claim that the quality of posts and responses to questions has fallen a bit, and there is a problem when a person (me a few times) has to spend more time defending innocuous stuff that he or she posts rather than being free to soak up information.


Truth is, BinkNR, I don't have a problem with you. Heck, I don't even know you. Your initial comment came off kind of harsh. I responded to it, made my comments, and moved on. I recently just saw your explanation about why you made the initial post and I see your point-of-view. Anyway, I hope you will view this as a peace offering of sorts (even though I never thought we had a war going on).

 

i just ordered another T400 today, upgraded to 8 gigs this time though.

Did you change anything else about the configuration besides how much RAM it's going to come with?
