The other day I left my notebook on standby and didn't touch it for a couple of days, today I went to boot it up and the battery was surprisingly totally drained. It also appeared that the system did not shut itself down or hibernate as it's supposed to do when it runs low on battery because I got a "Windows Did Not Shut Down Successfully" error on boot up. Anybody knows what's up with this? This is the second time this has happened and I'm worried about possible damage to the battery since I've totally drained it twice now.

you wanna test the options in power manager, you can change the thresholds and shutdown/hibernate at, say, 50% battery to see if it works
no need to drain the battery once again

as for what is up with that: we'll all find out once you run a test

is hibernate enabled in your system?
