I had some startup issues and turned off most non-MS services to get back to normal. All I want to do is turn on Bluetooth, but I can't figure out at all how to do it. I made sure that any service or startup up item with 'Bluetooth' in it is enabled too.

Fn-F5 worked fine before I turned most services off and I can't determine which one would get it back (the only Lenovo app I am running is the battery app).

In Device Manager, I don't see a Bluetooth listing anywhere. I can get a Bluetooth settings window, but changing the settings shows an error that a Bluetooth Folder is missing. The 'Bluetooth Enhanced Data Rate software' for Vista seems to be unavailable.

    Any suggestions? Thanks!

Try the onscreen display startup item and service.

I know it requires the hotkey program to be installed (figured that out during my clean install) and that is the only startup item I can see that is related to it.

Thanks - that brought back the ability to see changes when turning the volume up/down/on/off. Still can't turn Bluetooth on, tho.

When I try to change Bluetooth settings - basically checking all boxes to all Discovery, Connections & add a tray icon, I get this error:

I'm assuming that error would go away if I get turn Bluetooth on.

nothing happens when you hit Fn+F5 after enabing that option?

The only thing related to bluetooth in my services is the "Bluetooth Service" and "Bluetooth Service Support"

Lenovo service wise, the only two that show Lenovo as the manufacturer are "On Screen Display" and "Thinkpad PM Service"

You can try enabling the second one and see if it works.

Did you disable any start-up items?

I disabled a lot of startup items, what I *think* to be non-vital stuff. I just noticed something after hitting Fn-F5 a couple of times - some items in the Task Manager with 'Fn-F5' in them that are referencing Lenovo Access Connections. I have to do some work, but I'm going to turn on Access Connections later and see if that resolves problem.

Aside from having to figure this out (and resolving my boot issue by turning some services off), I love this laptop. You diggin' yours?
