    @nicodemus

    "Bulge on top and around display casing"

    This is a feature and comes from internal rollcage!!!

    I think a Thinkpad is better build than a Dell. :)

    Blame whomever you want but its not the hardware ( Lenovo's fault ) that the software is written by some incompetent n00b, now is it? So its not a T400 issue at all. If you want your hardware to run as expected, maybe its time to invest in a REAL operating system.

    When I say bulge, I'm not talking about the uniform spacing between the LCD and the edge of the frame. It's an irregularity that looks like whoever put together the notebook was forced to rush this thing out the door. I'd like to say my particular T400 is better built than a Dell, but it simply isn't. Maybe I've been spoiled by Apple, but I also don't remember my T23 being like this.

    I have had my T400 a week now and I would agree this is by far the best laptop I have owned/used. My T400 has experienced a few of the listed issues:

    • After creating the Recovery Disks, if I hit the ThinkVantage button during bootup I only get the bios page now. But I have restored the notebook to factory settings using the created discs and it worked flawlessly.

    • There is some flex on the left palm rest above the card slot but nothing that will throw the earth out of rotation. Other than that minor flex, this keyboard is absolutely amazing compared to any other keyboard I have used on a notebook

    Just wanted to let everyone know I received my replacement finger reader from lenovo and this one is working fine. Keep an eye out for bum units as some are slipping through but a replacement is easy to get.

    There's nothing fake about the operating systems available on this and what you're saying is already known to anyone with any sense about these sorts of issues. These are driver problems, not hardware, no surprise.

    I have a beeping sound coming from the CD-ROM side of the laptop. It happens about every 5 seconds, consistently, and it usually comes in 3 beeps. WHAT THE HECK IS THAT???

    maybe its just me, but on the one the touchpad/palmrest piece was not attached in the bottom right corner and could easily be lifted. I tried reseating it but it did not catch. couldnt really tell if it was broken or a defect. i wonder if it would have been something they could just send me.

    post#69 yeah lol...
