I am waiting for my T400 now; I placed the order a couple of days ago. the T400 I ordered is coming with one module 2gb ram. I intend to add another 2gb to work with vista x64.
I want to get a memory with the same specs as the original one. Would you please tell me what are the specs of the T400 DDR3 2gb ram?
Is there a place where I can get it in a good price? any recommendations?

You should just get the RAM from Lenovo's CPP. It should be the same thing as what whey put in the systems, if I'm not mistaking.

If you want to be completely sure, you can wait until you receive your system, then use a program like CPU-Z to identify the RAM.

edit: CPU-Z doesn't recognize DDR3 yet. Thanks for the update W500?.

Yeah, you should probably identify you RAM with CPU-Z and buy a similar one. I would recommend you a G.Skill model that fits with your other SO-DIMM.

No you can't since cpu-z does not yet recognize ddr3.

    my T400 came with ddr3-1066 CL7 RAM.
most of DDR3 SO DIMM on the market are from this category
just look for DDR3 SO DIMM 204 pin
    (I bought this one Kingston ValueRAM SO-DIMM 2GB PC3-8500S CL7 (DDR3-1066) (KVR1066D3S7/2G))

    EDIT:
end yes CPU Z and all other software that i tried doesn't recognise it as ddr3, they all show me that i have ddr2.
