I am experiencing an interesting issue, after I reinstalled windows, I have not attempted to use a cd/dvd in my t400, but when I was trying to import a music cd, I realized that it is not reading any discs that are not empty. If I put a blank CD-R/DVD-R in, it recognizes the empty disc, but if it is a CD/DVD that has anything on it, it just tells me to enter a disc into the drive and ejects it.
Has anyone had a similar issue, and is there anything I can do to get my DVD drive to work again? It worked to burn my recovery discs on the original Lenovo install, and I also installed Vista from the DVD drive when I reinstalled.
Is there a driver/firmware I may be missing that would do this?
Thanks.

I also have one driver missing, PCI serial port. That wouldn't affect this drive's function right?

Figured it out, for anyone who gets this. I did not have all the hotfixes that Lenovo offered. I uninstalled the DVD Drive from Device Manager, applied all the patches from Lenovo through the Lenovo Update program, restarted, and then it worked.
Apparently it had something to do with going into sleep mode, then coming back and not reactivating everything correctly.
T400 DVD Drive will not read discs.
