Does anyone have a pointer to the spec for the T400 multi recorder? The FRU does not show up on the Lenovo site.

I'd like to know what formats the recorder can write.

Also I would like advice on DVD-R versus DVD+R.

    Thank you in advance.

I think they use more than one drive. There's little practical difference between DVD+R and -R.

I have read that +r is more suited to archives. +r seems more expensive for whatever reason.

There's no practical difference in my opinion. If you're archiving, use high quality media.

Usually laptop drives today write 8x max for DVDs and 24x max for CDs.
