Are there any ecoupons or deals right now?

I put together a T400 with discrete graphics

    Intel Core 2 Duo processor P8700 (2.53GHz 1066MHz 3MBL2)
Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 6412
14.1 WXGA TFT, w/ LED Backlight
ATI Mobility Radeon 3470 with 256MB
    4 GB PC3-8500 DDR3 SDRAM 1067MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM)
8 UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) with Fingerprint Reader
320 GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm
4 DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim (Serial ATA)5
    No Bluetooth
    ThinkPad WiFi (BGN)10
    Integrated Mobile Broadband upgradable
    6 cell Li-Ion Battery60

came together after tax $990 USD, is that a good price?

The USPSEARCH code only takes 10% off not 20%
    OR
    should I just wait

**Also I put UNITED STATES because I saw a thread for Canada and they had some good deals on the t400's

A deal would be getting that for $700 or less. I'd wait.

To me it seems like a great deal. Getting far more than what I got 2 years ago for far less! BTW you arent going to get that for $700. What would the system cost if you added B-tooth, upgraded to Intel WI-FI, turbo memory, W7 Ultimate and a larger battery?

This is certainly a much better price than that half a year ago, but it's not the best I've seen recently. With that configuration (especially since the screen and wireless card are not one of the most expensive options), I would try to get it below $900, and maybe - if you get lucky- below $800.

U need B-tooth. Will regret it if you dont. Also I would get the camera. May think you dont need it but it can come in handy.

T400 = $628. Most upgrades can be done for cheaper by yourself such as another 2GB DDR3 stick for 4GB and bigger HDD. The discrete GPU version will be about $100 more. The pricing for the rest depends on your needs. Bluetooth is cheap and can be installed yourself. The wireless card needs to be from Lenovo due to their whitelisting cards. There isn't significant difference btw P8600 and P8700. I've seen the T400 base price go down to $500. It's definitely possible that with some upgrades to get it around $700-800.
