    Hi all,

I am new to this. I am a owner of the Lenovo T400 (6475). I have installed a finger print palm rest product number 42X4847. However it does not seem to work, I have tried installing the Lenovo FingerPrint soft ware but each time I try to enroll my finger print I get the following message:
    Error: Cannot communicate with sensor.

I have gone into the BIOS (ver 3.24 7UET94WW) > Security > I/O and disabled and enabled the finger print sensor. This was not fruitful, I've also tried to uninstall and install the Fingerprint software.

Please help I really would like to get this working but currently pulling my hair out :(

    Thank you all in advance

    Pritesh

    Welcome to the forum!

The fact that the reader is "seen" in BIOS means that it's at least partially functional.

Have you tried enrolling your prints on the BIOS level - along with or instead of Supervisor Password - and what were the results if you have?

Having gone in the BIOS I do not see any options to enrol my prints, where can this be found in the BIOS?

I don't use FPR on any of my ThinkPads, but speaking from memory here there should be an option in BIOS to clear the fingerprints.

Try doing that and see whether anything changes.

    Good luck.

There is no option to clear the fingerprints. I had a look before posting and I didn't have that option I just have an option to enable or disable the fingerprint which I've tried but no success.

My BIOS is Ver 3.24 (7UET94WW) can I upgrade it and is it worth upgrading?
