Was having quite a bit of trouble with the laptop just dropping connections (as many have reported). I could be sitting 10 feet from the router, and the connection would drop and it would indicate that it had turned off the radio. Sometimes the only way to get it to work again was to reboot...major pain in the ***.

So I uninstalled Access Connections and everything seems to be better. Not sure why they feel the need to put multiple layers of crap on top of the base function but if they do it they should at least make sure it works.

So if you are capable of managing your connections with the tools Vista/XP provide then by all means remove this layer of crap. :)

a conflict between Access Connection and Windows Networking Service.....You must us one or the other. To have both of them work together, have windows service control the connections, then go under access connections, and select "windows wireless service" as your profile.

Did you disable the automatic control wireless radio?

You might try Control Panel --> Device Manager --> Network Adapters--> Wifi Link 5300 --> Power Management tab --> UNCHECK "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

Obvious, I know, but still worth a try.
