    sorry for the stupid newb question, but i cant figure this out...how do i turn on/off the dvd drive on my T400?

    Fn+F9 should let you turn it off.

    thanx for the reply, Fn+F9 seems to eject the drive, this is the same as turning it of?

    oops sorry.
    You can set it to turn off automatically in power manager options. ( right click on battery icon and then launch power manager )
