Hello All,
I received my T400 a few days ago and I ran CPU-Z. In the report it showed my RAM as being DDR2 and could not display a frequency. Anyone else having this problem, is this a mis-report because of drivers or something? Or did the laptop actually not come with DDR3 like it is supposed to?
Here's the CPUZ link: http://valid.x86-secret.com/show_oc.php?id=413765

CPU-Z glitch/incompatibility - does not report DDR3.
Try out PC Wizard 2008 or Everest Pro. -
It does same for my T400, cpuz reports it as DDR2 ram.
-
same for me...PC wizard doesn't tell anything though...

Pop off the palmrest and take a look with your own eyes

So it isn't DDR2?
-
hey so i did the same thing as well. I also took off the palmrest and the memory module is pc3-8500. I'm also using everest and it is still listing it as DDR2 instead of ddr3? could there be something in the bios that is limiting the frequency of the ddr3 module?

It's just because the software cannot recognize those new technology DDR3 RAM. You don't need to worry about it. Only DDR3 RAM can be installed on T400.

T500 is the same, reporting DDR2. actually DDR3.
T400 Ram reported as DDR2??
