Basically there were two options. Using the first option i have created 1 Rescue and Recovery Disk. Using the second option I have created 9 product recovery disks.

I want to to wipe everything on the harddrive(SSD, secureerase) including the hidden partition. to recover what should i do. Should i use the Rescue and Recovery Disk first. would this create the hidden partition(around 1.5GB). Then use the 9 product recovery disks.

With the recovery disks you can only reinstall one way. The only bootable disk is the rescue and recovery disk. The other disks become accessible through the R&R menu. By using the set of R&R disks (R&R + OS/Software disks) the hidden partition will always be put back the way it was. The only way for this to not happen is to use OEM or Retail windows disks.

If you need the extra space, once done restoring it is simple to remove the partions (use google)

I reinstalled everything using the Recovery Disks i had burned. In addition to the C: drive there are two additional partitions:

    1. Q(Lenovo): 10GB - This partition is empty. Can I delete this? If so how do i do so and merge with the C: drive? If i don't want to delete this can i use this partition to save my data files?

    2. S :(ServiceV003) - 1.56GB. From what i read i need this to boot(or atleast the Rescue and Recovery function at startup). This space is small enough that i don't mind keeping it as-is. It would be nice if i can hide it though.

Follow on question. Considering i have an 64GB SSD space is a premium. Currently around 12Gb is taken by 2 Lenovo partitions. This is bothering me to an extent I am thinking of a fresh install even if it means using my technet Win Vista disk. Mainly two questions:

    1. Does Lenovo mail out Windows Vista disks which will install stuff without the recovery partition. Atleast with HP the disk they mail out is regular Vista install disk which can be used to do a fresh install. If Lenovo mails something like this out i will call them.

    2. If no to #1 then my option is to do a fresh install using my Technet disk and then reainstall all the latest drivers(plus apps from the SWTOOLS directory). What are the pros and cons of this versus the current Lenovo installation?
