Hi,
Anyone have a copy of Roxio Business Creator on their SWtools directory or on the recovery disk (that comes with the DVD multidrive of the T400)? If you have it can you post a copy, I could not find the installation files anywhere.
Thanks.

All the software installed on your machine is located in the SWTools folder on the C:\ drive. It should be there if you still have it.
-
Unfortunately I completely wiped out everything for a clean install... but I am quite sure it isn't in there when I checked, since I was explicitly looking for a way to reinstall that after reinstallation.
-
If you have the recovery discs, it may be worth it to put it back so you can get a copy of the folder. You can download it from Lenovo's website, but it may only be an upgrade meaning you must already have it installed.

ZaZ - please note that Lenovo has changed something in the switch to the new T's.
Although that folder holds installers for the ThinkVantage stuff and the various drivers, on my T400 it does *not* have any identifiable installation files for Roxio Business Creator. It is not downloadable from Lenovo either. The multimedia downloads are for earlier versions and won't install on my T400.
I've been over this with Lenovo on the phone, and they have no solution other than to basically go back to a factory installation. Roxio won't help either.
So when Blackberry Desktop Manager cr*pped all over my Roxio Business Creator I ended up having to go to another solution. -
its there I found it in the swtools folder. its the folder called CBED i think its in apps but not sure since i dont have a t400 with me, but look in swtools for CBED
EDIT: yeah lenovo service sucks. as I said before they have no choice BUT to build a good laptop if not they would have no business at all. -
Very strange -- there is no CBED folder on my T400 that I can find. I've looked in C:\swtools as well as in the Q: partition. I have Vista Ultimate x86

geeze so they cant even load the right image on the right systems.... that sux. i also just read another thread where someone with ati graphics who did not get ati drivers. oh and on a side note. i got a second t400 after my first one was just useless on arival (bad software loaded) and i made a backup copy of the folder. when i tested the lenovo restore to see if it worked (after recover media made) it actually worked. but when i checked the swtools. the cbed folder was gone. so if anyone can read this BACKUP THE FOLDER EVEN BEFORE U DO A LENOVO BLUE BUTTON RESTORE>
EDIT: not only was cbed gone but some other ones gone too. maybe they are just hidden to prevent bootlegging. but since i don't have my system with me i can't check. -
Curiouser and curiouser...
Based on your tip I went to my Acronis backup of the system factory fresh state and I see the CBED folder in the SWtools\Apps folder. Worked fine for a reinstall. +1 for you.
This is the image I made before making the recovery media -- I wonder if maybe that process trashed those installers?
More evidence for the fact that the smart thing is to make a full system image backup as soon as possible. I literally installed Acronis and did the backup as soon as I got to the desktop on my new T400. -
Maybe I'm just lucky, but I've found the CBED folder under SWTOOLS > APPS > CBED, and the setup file is located under the CBE folder. I created the Rescue and Recovery discs the first time I booted up my machine, and ave since cloned my disc image onto a new harddrive.

Did you do Rescue & Recovery or did you do Create Recovery Media. Two different things I think?
-
Can you upload the copy? I believe the software is locked to Lenovo's drives and so it shouldn't be a problem.
Seems like my original factory image is a gone case since it didn't even come with the reinstallation files. I do have the recovery disks but I would rather not want to go through reinstalling everything again just for the burning software. -
I went through the IBMTools folder, which is what it's called during the IBM days, and renamed everything to the correct name so I could tell what it was. Roxio sucks anyway. I use CDBurnerXP. It's free and works well for the basics, which is all I usually do on my machine.

Hi,
Can someone upload the Roxio software?
I re-installed MS Vista Business and did not backup the SWTOOLS folder.
And I do not have the recovery CDs/DVDs.
I just need the Roxio Business Creator. -
If you need a burning software, I'd reccomend ImgBurn. It is lightweight, free, and does an outstanding job. I never did like the Roxio center, everytime I tried to burn Lenovo Bios update CD's they wouldn't read properly. Did it in ImgBurn and it fired right up. Good software.

In my T500 Vista 32 factory preload the Roxio CBED directory was missing from C:\SWTOOLS\APPS. I went back and checked my first backup after unpacking before I burnt recovery discs and it was missing there too.
When I discovered CBED was missing I had already wiped my Q partition and its backups (after burning the recovery disks from it) but I did a factory setting reload from the recovery disks on a separate hard disk.
On the system generated by the recovery disks the whole C:\SWTOOLS\APPS directory was missing! BUT after searching I found CBED and a few other subdirectories missing from my factory preload C:\SWTOOLS\APPS in C:\Program Files\MLPS\APPS on the recovery disk system.
ps In the Q partition restored by the recovery disks there was a very small Q:\SWTOOLS\APPS with just two subdirectories skypedl and WLToolbar.
