Hi all, l will be buying a T400 and have more questions.
    1. Is the actual screen size different between the WXGA (1280X800) and
    the WXGA+(1440X900)?
    2. I've read alot about the LG vs Samsung screen differences. Does that
difference exist with the WXGA+ screens also?
    3. Does anyone know of any side-by-side pctures of the WXGA and WXGA+
screens. I can't find one in a store and I'm not sure if the text will be
too small on the WXGA+ resolution.
    Thanks again in advance

    1) NO, they are both 14.1" with a 16:10 ratio.

    2) I know that the WXGA+ LED was available from both Samsung and LG. I assume the same is true for the WXGA+ CCFL models.

    3) Look at this DPI chart. The WXGA+ T400 has 120 DPI, this is about halfway between a 12.1" WXGA and 17.0" WSXGA+ which should be relatively widespread in stores. Conversely, the WXGA T400 has 107 DPI, about the same as a 12.1" XGA.

1.- They're exactly the same size.
2.- I think the difference was mostly between the LG LED and the Samsung LED. I haven't heard of any vast differences in quality between different manufacturers of CCFL panels used on the T400.
3.- It's hard to judge from pictures. You have to play with a screen to see what fits for you.
WXGA+ on the T400 is about the same DPI (text size, in laymens terms) as WXGA (1280x800) on a 12.1" widescreen, WSXGA+ (1680x1050) on a 15.4" widescreen, and a bit less than WUXGA (1920x1200) on a 17" widescreen (as in, the text will be a bit larger than on a WUXGA screen on a 17" laptop). Local stores are bound to have one of these resolutions on a laptop.

Hey, thanks for the very helpful replies. I'l try Best Buy to look at those resolutions. Tell me if this thinking is correct. I have an old standard format
    (4:3) laptop with a a 1024X768 Resolution (106X106 DPI). If I go into display
properties->Settings->Advanced->DPI Setting->Custom Setting, then reduce the font size to 89% of the current (106 DPI divided by 120 DPI, which is the size of the T400 WXGA+ screen), will I approximate the size text that I will see with the WXGA+ screen?
