    I have a T400 with a CCFL+ screen.

I love my computer but I am just wondering if there was any way to get the screen brighter. I'm pretty sure its a thinkpad thing and thats the way it was designed.

Sell it and buy a T400 with an led screen.

Probably the only way. It's not easy to upgrade from a CCFL screen to an LED screen, as I believe the connectors are different and you'll have to do a lot of fiddling around, so if the brightness really bothers you, you should consider getting another Thinkpad with an LED-backlit screen.

The T400 came with 2 LED screen options, the WXGA+ LED panel and the WXGA high-nit LED panel. The latter is far brighter and has better color accuracy and viewing angles, although you do lose screen resolution.

I bought mine pre-LED screens. I think I bought early early spring of 09. Its almost 2 years old I guess.

Yea. I did a little bit of research and pretty much found that they were more or less not plug and play and quite difficult to swap.

I love my thinkpad. Getting rid of it would be like selling my car because I didn't like the color. Its not worth it in my opinion. I was just wondering if there were any remedies on the market or something.

There is this software for netbooks:
    http://cpp.in/dev/eeectl/
It works probably only on some Eee Pc netbook models, not sure if there is such software that works on ThinkPads, but it would be interesting if TP's had such, after all there is TPFancontrol, why not this :D?
