With Dell Precisions being capable of 16 GB of RAM, it's safe to say we're at least in the 8 GB of RAM laptop era. Anyone have inside scoop as to when we'll see affordable (~$100) 4 GB DDR3 modules?
8 GB would be killer with VMWare Teams!

Which Dell notebook, specifically, can do 16GM RAM?
-
M6300 is reported here as being capable:

Is it currently configurable? Probably not. -
I dont think ram is the biggest bottle neck of vmware, it seems like all the os trying to use the same hard drive is a bigger problem
-
Hrm. The Dell Tech Specs mention a maximum of 8GB of RAM.

Affordable (~$100) 4 GB DDR3? lol wait a little longer, the 4 GB DDR2 is still like $300 a pop.
-
do you know of any online resellers?
-
For DDR2 or DDR3?
-

Any DDR3, because isn't that what is compatible with the t400?
-
is it safe to say the motherboard and bois of the t400/t500/w500 can handle 8gb??
-
DDR3 is available on newegg and other online sites, but I haven't seen the 4 GB stick, yet.

Micron did announce the 4 GB stick though:

I believe so, cause even the T61p can handle 8 GB.
