Hello, I ordered a SSD recently and I want this adapter. Only problem is that all the ones I've found are in china or are $50. This is on eBay.

Does anyone know of a place I can get the adapter for under $20 shipped and get it in a decent amount of time. I can't wait for 2 plus weeks.

If you want genuine, this is how much it costs. I recently bought the adapter for the x200 ultrabase, and i ended getting it from Lenovo because the ones from eBay were priced more or less the same.

If you are ok to try a non-genuine, use the keywords "thinkpad T400 sata adapter" at ebay.com and you can get one for as low as $11 shipped!

Edit: if you are not comfortable with eBay, get a non-genuine for $15.5 from here with 1 y warranty and 30d money back.

I know that but it's located in China and will take a long time to come in.

the $15.5 is US, in stock (see my edit above).

Edit: I'm sorry. It's an Ontario, Canada-based company- but still closer than china! :)

Yeah. most if not all of the cheap Ultrabay HDD adapters are in China, unfortunately. In my experience shipping anything from there takes around 2-3 weeks to the US. You might be able to convince them to ship it via airmail(takes around a week; about as long as you'd get anything from eBay within the US), but it'll most likely end up costing about the same as a genuine adapter.

I don't have any experience with the 'knockoff' adapters, but the genuine one I have works great.

I also bought one from Ebay, shipped from China.

My experience with $1 to $40 parts from China has been satisfactory. Shipping has always been 1.5weeks to 2.5weeks. I`ve only had a problem once with a supposedly OEM battery and it was quickly taken care of (90% refund and I kept it)

On the other hand, I bought a few parts from US companies thinking that the shipping, although paradoxically more expensive than for Chinese products, would be under a week. Boy was I wrong ! Itook upwards of ONE WHOLE MONTH by the time the products reached me. Plus, the parts were more expensive than Chinese ones although they were the same parts, also made in China. And oh, I also had to pay brokerage fees.
