I'm running Vista Business 32- bit with Intel's 5350 WiFi. I'm experiencing a number of problems which are creating intermittent DNS errors. Sometimes, the problem is that 802.11 wireless radio has inexplicably turned itself off (even though in Device Manager I've unchecked the option that allows the computer to turn it off to save power). Other times, there's a problem with the wireless network's security settings and I need to re-enter the WEP key. Sometimes I get a DNS error and when I click on "Diagnose Connection Problems" Vista tells me that it is unable to find any problems and do I want to send a message to Microsoft?

Is it possible I have a bad WiFi chip? Could Vista be causing the problems? Any suggestions wold be appreciated.

Actually, I have similar problems with X200s (Intel 5100AGN). My Wi-Fi configuration consists of:
    • Linksys WRT 54G routers (one at home, one in the office)
    • Lenovo's Launch Access Connection software managing wireless network.
    • Vista Business 32
I read that it can be related to card's power management, however, I have not made regression tests yet.

I finally turned on Auto WLAN service in Vista.
AC automatically disabled itself but the network started working flawlessly!

This is, sadly, why clean installs make me, and other people, so happy
