    Hi,

I've been testing out all of the features on my new T400, but I can't seem to get my computer to recognize a 1GB SD card in the 7 in 1 (which in my invoice is spec'd as a 4 in 1) media card reader. Anyone with similar problems?

I'm running XP and think it may be a drive issue, though I've checked and everything seems up to date. Anyone with a simlar problem? Anyone with suggestions?

Nevermind... I tried another card, pushed a little harder this time, and realized that I needed to push the card much further into the slot. SD I & SDII are both working fine. Loving the new computer so far!

You can't run XP pro with the T400 discrete option, driver/sound issue that no one has worked out so far yet

I wonder how Lenovo works it out since you can order a T400 with Genuine Windows Vista Business with Windows XP Professional Downgrade or if you order Vista Business or Ultimate you can choose to get the Microsoft Windows XP Professional US English Recovery DVD.

Be interested to hear from someone with a system equipped one of these ways to see if they have similar issues with sound.

Marketfair, can you please comment on the transfer speeds you're seeing from the 7-1 media card reader?...is it comparable to an external usb reader?... i just ordered my t400 with the 7-1 reader, then read other posts about it being slow and better to have chose the expresscard/pc card option.

Without first-hand experience, I still doubt the 7-1 reader uses an antiquated 16bit pcmcia interface and hope it would at least use an internal 32bit cardbus or usb interface for the reader. TIA!

7-1 reader might be using cardbus (or usb), not pcmia (1.5m/s!)
