Where are people getting these T400 with WGXA+ LED screens? I'm located in the US, are they only for out of country purchases?

They are available from Lenovo Canada.

Unfortunately, a lot of other options we have available in the US (e.g., switchable graphics) are not.

I would have paid the extra for LED backlighting on my WXGA+ screen were it available here in the US. That said, the CCFL screen is decent, though like many laptop screens, it could use more contrast.

Yeah, I read that Canadians are able to get LED WXGA+ on their T400. I also read that early on in the US, Lenovo had offered LED WXGA+ for their T400 but suddenly stopped. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I'm fairly disappointed that they did this.

I had orginally ordered an LED WXGA screen from Lenovo, but canceled it because I realized resolution > brightness/contrast for me. But now after getting my new T400 yesterday with a CCFL WXGA+ screen, I was hoping that it could have been brighter.

Don't get me wrong, the 200nit screen is good/average. Luckily, I got a LG TFT so I guess I shouldn't be complaining. But like you, I definately would have paid alot more for that LED WXGA+ screen.

One thing that did bother me was.. on lowest brightness, I can SEE near the top of the LCD on the default dark blue Lenovo background. Can anyone confirm that this is an exisiting problem with the T400, or is it just me?

Also, are you saying that Canadians can't get switchable graphics like us? I think I would much rather perfer the switchable graphics vs. LED screen.

I live in the US and Lenovo did offer the WXGA+ LED option early in the life cycle. I consider myself lucky because I got one of those in September and it is a LG screen to boot. As for your brightness issue, could you describe it more? I turned my brightness down all the way and didn't see anything abnormal.

I had a saved cart of a t400 configured with a wxga+ led back from January. In May, I was still able to checkout and order my t400 with the wxga+ led from the US site.
Unfortunately, my screen has a red stuck pixel right in the center of the screen.
