Just received t400 from my brother and it comes with 9-cell. When the battery is fully charged(98%), the time remaining:2hrs. I thought i suppose to get 8-10hrs with this 9-cell battery? Anyone think this is a faulty battery?

    battery name: 42T4644
    Manufacturer: Sanyo

Are you running on integrated graphics (Energy Saving) or discrete graphics (High Performance)? What screen brightness are you at? Are you using your WiFi? Is Bluetooth on? Are you gaming/doing intensive tasks or word processing/letting it sit idle?

Are you using XP with SWITCHABLE selected in BIOS? That gives me like a 2hr battery life on my 9-cell.

As above all depends on power settings, I have the 9 cell in my T400 below and get 3.5 hours with on max performance settings.

Under Thinkvantage Power Manager, under the battery tab, compare Design Capacity and Full charge capacity and Remaining capacity. Are they similar?

Im in the minimal power management. I called Lenovo and they offered to send me a new one. It might be the window xp that im running but i'll install window 7 rc tonight. Anyone know why my graphic is ATI 3400 instead of 3470 as listed on lenovo site?
