I had to manually remove the bottom bar (right click on each icon, uncheck lock, and then move them to the top bar). You can then remove the bottom bar. You may also want to add the standard Gnome menu to the top bar (right click, add to panel) and remove the default one (the standard takes less space and works better if you only have a single bar).
The Ubuntusudiolauncher installed fine for me. I am pretty sure that it is one of two things. It is either related to the splash screen (when you turn your computer on, does it say Ubuntu or Ubuntu studio), or it is a small control applet that provides one or two functions of unknown quality. In either case, I really wouldn't worry about it. The main things I wanted out of Studio are the media editing applications, wallpaper, and dark theme.

i've installed ubuntu 8.10 and it's amazing..works basically flawlessly..
the only problem i have is that bluetooth is turned on automatically when i start up..i just want wireless to be on.
if i fn+f5 i get a couple options...wireless on, bluetooth on. wireless on bluetooth off. wireless off bluetooth on. wireless off bluetooth off.
i just want it to start up with wireless on and bluetooth off..anyone know how to do that?
