Has anyone bought the T400 with a T9400 (or similar) processor with a 4 or 6 cell battery? What kind of battery life do you see with this configuration?

I wonder why Lenovo isn't offering the high-end P-series processsors? The 2.53GHz P9500 was introduced simultaneously with the 2.53GHz T9400, but I don't recall seeing it available on any ThinkPads.
The 2.53GHz P8700 (same as P9500, but with 3mb L2 cache vs. 6mb) and the 2.67GHz P9600 were released in 12/08. I haven't seen either of those offered either. -
I too wonder why Lenovo doesn't offer it as an option - they offer the P8700 in some Ideapads, so why not extend it to the Thinkpad family? -

The P8700 looks like the "sweet spot" in the lineup from a performance/value standpoint (much like the T8300 was in the original Penryn release). -
Ideally, it's the p9600 processor (2.66 GHz/6MB Cache) that I wish was offered! It would be the ideal processor for this laptop. I read somewhere that the P9600 is or will be offerred with the T400 in Japan.
