Thinpad T400, everytime after I shut it down. The fan keep running; The bluetooth LED stay on. Also can't be power on by push the power button shortly once. I have to push the Power button for a few second to completely shut it down. Then it can be power on by push the power button shortly once.
Tried to update the BIOS, problem still there.

this could be a software problem or a hardware problem. Have you tried to reinstall the OS from scratch?

I had a similar problem of not being able to restart; it would freeze on the black screen before the Think splash screen came on. The fan and hard drive would keep running. The problem turned out to be a faulty hard drive.

Yes, I tried clean install. No help. More likely the hardware problem. Return.

I think it is time for you to send the laptop for warranty repair.

You bought this from the depot? I think you would have to get a support ticket from the warranty support, and then call the customer service line. Otherwise you will be liable for 15% restocking fee.

From ebay. Contacted seller this morning. Still no response. I will claim to ebay and Paypal on monday if no response from seller.

Can't find T400 from Lenovo directly. Used T410 for few months, back to T400, because of noise.

Outlet is almost not possible to get the hottest deals.
My T400 has three years on-site warranty. But I don't want to use warranty to get refurbished parts for a brand new T400. I will deal with ebay first.
